My Dad

Well today is my dad's birthday. For his sake I won't say how old he is but let's just say it's a big one...big enough that he definitely deserves his own blog post.
My dad is one of my ultimate heroes in life. He always has been but as the years go by I am more and more impressed by the person that he is and I am so very thankful to have him as my dad.
I'm sure that there must have been a time in my teenage life that I was embarrassed by him or thought he was uncool or whatever; but honestly I can only remember ever being proud to say that he was my dad. This post would go on way too long if I wrote all of the things that make me so thankful to be his daughter, so I will only mention a few.

My dad is so supportive of everything his family does. He has seven children and it was so so so rare for him to ever miss anything we were participating in, be it sports, dance, scholastic competitions, church events etc. He still makes every effort to be to everything. With six children-in-law and 14 grandchildren added to the mix and with him living hours away from most of us, I can only imagine how tiring it is to schedule it all in and to travel so much. I know that he and my mom love being able to experience all of the things that they do with us, but I don't think they have any idea how much we all appreciate the effort that they make for us.
In my opinion my dad is what all husbands should aspire to be for their wives. He loves my mom and would do anything for her. They have created a very strong and eternal family and my dad is the strong patriarch leading us all in the things we should do. On that note, my dad has such a strong testimony. Never once in my life have I questioned where he stood on any gospel issues. He honors his priesthood and teaches others (by word and example) to do the same.
My dad has a wonderful and cheesy "dad sense of humor." He loves to smile and laugh and he passes that happy attitude on to others.

Most of all my dad makes me want to be a better person. Anything good that is in me is from my dad and my mom. Everything good that I have achieved and accomplished in my life is only due to their support and example. This post is about my dad but it's impossible to post only about him without mentioning my mom because they are such a good example of being one in purpose. I am so glad that they chose each other.

I could go on and on all night long, but the bottom line is that I am so thankful for my loving daddy. I love him so much and I hope he has 60 more birthdays!

One year older and wiser too

Well this post is a couple of days late but Taylor had a birthday and I think he deserves a birthday post. He's 26 years old now so I'm going to list 26 of the reasons that I love my cute husband. There are many more than 26 so these will just be the first ones that come to mind, in no particular order.

1. I love that he loves me
2. I love his humility - he's much quicker to say sorry than I am
3. I LOVE his curly hair
4. I love his flexibility (not physical flexibility, but just his easy-going nature)
5. I love that he tells me he loves me many times a day
6. I love that he opens car doors for me always
7. I love his hugs and he freely gives them
8. I love his testimony and that he honors his Priesthood
9. I love that he loves family
10. I love how much he loves kids; he is going to be such a great father
11. I love his laugh
12. I love that we liked all the same sports teams when we met (except baseball, which truthfully I don't really care about). It wouldn't be a deal-breaker if he didn't bleed blue but it makes life so much more fun that he loves BYU as much as my family does
13. I love that he holds my hand always
14. I love that he loves Blanding as much as I do
15. I love the way he whistles when he's in a really good mood
16. I love his goofy personality
17. I love his beautiful blue eyes
18. I love that he likes to cuddle with me
19. I love when he cooks me dinner
20. I love when he surprises me with flowers
21. I love that he gets along with my lifelong friends so well
22. I love that he is willing to work and go to school
23. I love that he makes me smile every day
24. I love when he talks sports and he gets so analytical
25. I love watching him golf. I know that sounds weird, but I just think he's so super cute when he golfs
26. I love that he's my husband and I get to be with him forever

Happy Birthday honey! Love your guts!
